Biography:  
  Max Weis (aka White) was a native of New Haven, Connecticut and came to Cleveland in 1910. He was a specialist in commercial and residential architecture, zoning, and housing rehabilitation. He helped write Cleveland's zoning code and was the president of the Apartment and Homeowners Association. His son George M. White shared his father's office at 750 Prospect Avenue until his appointment as official architect of the United States Capitol by President Richard Nixon.
