Name: Israel J Lehman

Biography:  
  Israel J. Lehman was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and moved to Cleveland with his father in 1862. He was educated in the Cleveland public schools and entered an architect's office at the age of fourteen. He worked as a draftsman for the county. From 1880 to 1884 he was employed as a draftsman in the office of George H. Smith. He entered into partnership with Theodore Schmitt (1860-1935) in 1885. Their offices were in the Hickox Building at East 9th Street and Euclid. He was a member of the Willson Avenue Temple, the Cleveland City Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, the B'Nai Brith, the Excelsior Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. He passed away in his home at 1657 East 115th Street, at the age of fifty-five in 1914. He was buried in Mayfield Cemetery.
