Name: George Martin Hopkinson

Biography:

George M. Hopkinson was born in Hull, England. He immigrated to the United States in 1903 and was naturalized as an American citizen in 1908. He was the Cleveland School Board Architect from 1926 to 1932, where he was in charge of building design during the district's last big era of expansion. He lived at 1981 Ford Road in University Circle. He moved to New York City in 1933 where he was assistant to the Vice President of Operations for Rockefeller Center. He was a member of the National Council on Schoolhouse Standards, and the American Institute of Architects. He was the author of many articles on the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings.
