Region Description

The Near West  Region generally covers the area of the City between the Cuyahoga River and West 85th Street excluding the west side of the Flats and the Lake Erie waterfront.  This region includes the following Design Review Districts:

• Clark-Metro Design Review District Map (PDF)
• Old Brooklyn Design Review District Map (PDF)

The Near West Committee also reviews projects in the Brooklyn Centre Historic District as advisory to the Cleveland Landmarks Commission.

The Near West Committee does not review projects in the following designated Local Landmarks Districts: (these districts are reviewed by separate local committees advisory to the Landmarks Commission)

• Gordon Square Historic District
• Lorain Avenue Historic District
• Market Square Historic District
