Committee moved to approve project design w/the understanding that the following changes will be incorporated into the final set of drawings to be reviewed and approved by the Near West Design Review Committee, prior to transmittal to the City Planning Commission: (1) reduce the height of the block base on the north elevation of Units F & G and at the north end of Unit A to create a more "stepped" appearance; (2) incorporate a solar shading element (e.g., awning) on the West 54th Street and Herman Avenue elevationsof Unit A; (3) wrap the column at the NW corner of Unit F in white-colored aluminum material; (4) depict the locations of gutters/downspouts on all rear building elevation drawings; (5) reduce the entrance driveway's curb cut width from 22' to 16', per the agreement w/the City's Housing Design Review Subcommittee; and, (6) employ split-faced CMUs in place of the tinted block CMUs along the building's foundation. |
