Project details were presented by Mr. Lou Belknap of Agile Signs.  Mr. Belknap presented details on a non-illumintated, pin-mounted existing monument sign.  Materials for the lettering will be a 1/2 inch soudered plastic in white.

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

• Will there be any site lighting in parking lot to help illuminate the sign?
• Decrease and lower the size of the "Smartland" and phone number lettering on the monument sign to create a larger space between lines of text.
• Is this an existing monument signl? Yes
• When was the large Smartland text added to the side of the building?
• Was there a permit required?  This should have been seed by the Design Review Committee.  Will be a code enforcement issue.
• Request that the management company return to present details on the large "Smartland" sign.

Motion to table decision making on the monument sign until details on the site signage can be presented.

Project details presented by Steven Gesis of Smartland, LLC.  Details presented on the temporary windproof banner sign, the updated monument sign, and the "SMARTLAND" lettering.

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

• How long will the temporary banner sign be up? PP: through the summer
• Where is the dog park?  Who owns and will maintain it?
• Where will the banner sign be located?  On the north fence line
• Lower quadrant of the sign may not be visible if there are taller vehichles parked near it.
• Intend to install landscaping for the monument sign, electric charging stations, and bike stations
• How old is the building?
• The letters seem to be crowded on the monument sign.  Perhaps the letters need to be reduced or re-arranged in some way for better legibility.  Narrow letters from 8" to 7" and remove the "Smartland" from the monument sign.
• What material is the large "SMARTLAND" graphic made of?  PP: marine grade paint
• Committee's concern is that the "SMARTLAND" graphic is purely advertisement for the business.  The graphic far exceeds any allowable signage and sets a negative precedent for the neighborhood and possible city since you own multiple properties around town.

Motion to approve the temporary banner design pending code review passed by all voting members present. (1-Veider, 2-Chew)

Motion to approve the monument sign with the condition to revise the lettering overall to create more openness in the background by changing the size, stacking, spacing of the letters.  Will make a final design decision once an email revision is submitted.  Passed by all voting members present. (1-Veider, 2-Poh)

Motion to disapprove the large "SMARTLAND" graphic on the side. Passed by all voting members present. (1-Poh, 2-Veider)
