Project presented by Mike Simko of Epic Signs.  Presented details on the window system, sample of banner and vinyl lettering materials, and placement.

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

  • Why is he using a temporary sign? Due to cost
  • How long is temporary? 6wks
  • Is the vinyl lettering temporary?  Permanent as far as he knows.
  • Is there a concern that the lettering will obscure the merchandise?
  • Why is the lettering so tall if it is meant to draw in pedestrian traffic?
  • Perhaps using the lettering on one side.  It doesn't seem beneficial to split the signs if it can't all be seen. Perhaps instead of such large letters being split it can be a repeating "banner" all the way around the base or header of window system.  Can also repeat bundles, lashes, etc.  Can bring in other colors as well to tie into the brand.
  • Suggest using the vinyl on the outside of the windows for better visibility.
  • "Best of Both Worlds" up to 8 inches.
  • Should it be higher and lined up with the adjacent business's sign.
  • Is there an option for adding a frame to give it more depth?
  • Why add the temporary sign at all if it is only up for 6wks?
  • Suggest using an actual typeface/known cursive to help the banner sign read better.
  • Concerned that the temporary banner will become a permanent sign.  It will not be an enhancement to the street.
  • How will the temporary sign be attached? With grommets
  • The graphic should be adjusted within the banner so there is a proportionate amount of red space around the border.
  • Is the light fixture functioning?

Motion to table until the final graphics in the storefront can be presented in a running banner form in 4-8inch height, in the temporary banner more red space in the surrounding field, temporary sign should be aligned with the adjacent signs.
