Voting Members Present:
Project was presented by Mary Ann Wyant from UPS. The Access Point was created for areas that have a large volume of deliveries but packages cannot be left at residences. Access Point provides a centralized location for people to pick up their packages. The unit is approx. 65 bays of various depths, it is well lit, has its own security cameras installed, and cameras are monitored. The unit will not be highly visible from the street and is about 3ft in depth. The unit will be flush with the building. There will be bollards to the protect the unit.
Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns:
Councilman Polensek is availabel for question and comment. He has no objection to the concept, but will there be security lighting? He is concerned about the lack of landscaping on the other side of the site. Per the UPS representative, the aesthetics of the property are important to them as well. The Councilman is also concerned about the debris and litter that could potentially collect behind the unit.
Motion to table the UPS project contingent on the owner attending the meeting to discuss other improvements to the site. |
