Voting Members Present
The scope of the project was presented by Jonathan Novak of Herschmann Architects. The subject property is directly across from the old Medic Drug building on E. 185th St. Northeast Shores will acquire the entire property and lease out the other two retail bays. No demolition of the structure is currently proposed. All renovations will be additive. They are going for a tactile wood look. They would like to provide a strong sense of entry and arrival points to attract potential retailers and future patrons.
Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns
Camille Maxwell, John Boksanksy, and Joe Barberee fron NES are available to provide additional context and information on inspiration for the design concept.
Motion to table by all voting members present. Committee suggested revisiting the design to better incorporate the contemporary feel with the existing neighborhood context. Would like the applicant to return with documentation/photos of original facade as this may provide some inspiration for the design concept. |
