  • Olga Andreyivska
  • Carol Poh (2nd)

Committee Concerns

  • What kind of signage is being proposed?
  • Are the brick and the shingles to similar in color?
  • The dark color scheme might appear to be a bit foreboding.
  • The north elevation appears as a solid horizontal band.
  • What does the rear of the building look like to the adjacent residents?
  • Will any parking variances be required?
  • How late will programs run in the evening? How will lighting be planned for?
  • Will there be any fencing added?
  • Can you green up the parking lot with trees?  The seems to be alot of open hardscape with no relief.  Can you screen the truck dock?

Cm Polensek spoke in support of the new investment and construction.

NES seems to be in support of the project as well.

Motion to approve the conceptual/schematic plans as presented.  Approved by all members present.

Committee Concerns

  • Doing the bare minimums with the plantings and landscaping.  Can put in smaller trees and let them grow so that you get lower costs now and the neighborhood can still have a full canopy later.
  • Can we add street trees as an alternate for when they have funding?
  • Can a walkway be added for kids to access the ball fields? Yes
  • Switch the rockets to sunbursts and move them down the street away from that elevation.
  • Changed the exterior to add a nichiha panel to break up some of the brown brick.
  • Is there any accent lighting?

Motion to approve as presented by all members present.
