Committee Concerns · How is it attached? How many holes will be put into the wall for the studs? · Can you allow spacing from the wall, to be a bit raised? Maybe about a half inch. · Are the letters two small? What about readability and working on the face of the building? Possibly an 8in letter rather than a 6 in letter. · Lower the sign to conceal the previous stud holes. · Will the sign company use some kind of putty to fill the previous holes? It will not be the same color. · Can we use some kind of panel backing to mount the sign so that only a minimum of additional holes will be made in the façade. · CEOGC is using a sign they previously had at their location across the street · What about putting the existing signs on a raceway and then mounting the raceway to the wall? It would be about 5-6 bars and then however many studs it would take to mount it. · The issues with bars would cause a shadow making it harder to read. · Possibly using a stainless steel panel to offset the letters.
Members Present R. Scott Neiswander = 1st Carol Poh = 2nd Elmer Turner (CH) Benny Chew Olga Andreyvska Peggy Brown Motion to table the proposed sign to explore the panel behind the sign. Motion passed unanimously. Will return email/administratively. Show photos of sign and panel to give a more accurate representation. 5/27 Applicant returned with a revised site plan via email submission. The revised site plan shows a mill finish aluminum backer panel to address issues of visibility and the amount of holes in the facade. Committee approved the revised site plan with an affirmative vote via email on 5/27. |
