1) Font is too bold. Consider a stylized font and/or use of lower case letters instead of all caps. 2) Color is too bold. Explore alternative colors. 3) The overall design feels borrowed from a strip shopping center. 17700 Lorain Ave is a handsome building with a strong presence along Lorain Ave and is situated at a gateway to downtown Kamm's Corners. The property owner has made a big investment improving the property. The Committee wishes to see a sign package that is worthy of the quality of the building and the investment that has been made in it. The current proposal is uninspired and diminishes the overall appearance of the building. 4) Committee would prefer to see a ground sign with a masonry base, echoing the brick on the building. External illumination is preferred. Interal illumination could also be made to work, if designed well. 5) A blade sign mounted on the westerly wall may also be an option. |

Review conducted via email. Summary of committee comments: It does not appear that the applicant has responded, in a meaningful way, to the committee's previous comments. The design still feels uninspired and has changed minimally from the initial design. Red lettering is especially concerning. Committee reiterates recommendation that a monument sign would be appropriate. |
