BROADWAY HISTORIC DISTRICT – 3283 EAST 55TH STREET Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the renovation of the house. The plans will include the demolition of the rear side porch and a rear 10’ x 15’ portion of the house, the restoration of the front porch railings, the maintenance of existing windows in the turret, trim detail on small peak, and the front door. They plan to install vinyl replacement windows and vinyl siding throughout.
WITNESSES Paul Kapczuk (Cleveland Housing Network), Gerry Durante (Slavic Village Development).
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION The Broadway Design Review Committee recommended approval of the house renovation, as proposed. The Design Review Committee had asked for cost estimates for the restoration of the wood siding versus vinyl siding. The applicant determined that the wood restoration would cost $6,800 more than the vinyl siding.
OHIO CITY HISTORIC DISTRICT – C. W. LANG BUILDING – 1844 WEST 25TH STREET Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the building renovation of the commercial building. Plans call removal of second story aluminum frame awning windows and replacement with new insulated casement windows. The cornice will be replaced. A new wood storefront with insulated glass system and wooden bulkheads will be installed. The brick will be tuck-pointed and cleaned.

WAREHOUSE HISTORIC DISTRICT – GEORGE WORTHINGTON BUILDING – D’ VINE WINE BAR - 836 WEST ST. CLAIR AVENUE Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the installation of an awning above the storefront.
WITNESS Jim Sharp (Ohio Awning), Thomas Starinsky (Historic Warehouse District).
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION The Warehouse District Design Review Committee recommended approval of the awning, as proposed.
TESTIMONY
MARKET SQUARE HISTORIC DISTRICT – MARKET PLAZA SHOPPING CENTER – WEST 25TH STREET Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the installation of two signs. The proposed sign on the west elevation is 9’5” wide by 1’6” tall, on the north elevation is 9’5” long by 18” tall and will be composed of channel style letters, with red plexi - face mounted on a raceway. The proposed sign meets the sign guidelines for the shopping center.

OHIO CITY HISTORIC DISTRICT – DEXTER PLACE CONDOMINIUMS Plans call for the construction of 10 to 14 residential units at the corner of Dexter Place and Clinton Avenue. One site plan would include the demolition of two houses along Dexter Place.
