On September 20, 2005, Mayor
Jane L. Campbell unveiled the City of Cleveland's final Waterfront
District Plan and spoke about the process that we have already
seen along our lakefront as a result of this comprehensive
planning process.
"We will no longer be separated from
our waterfront by highways, " said Mayor Campbell. "Instead
residents and visitors will experience the lake through increased
access and development."
Mayor Campbell identified numerous projects
that have already been completed as a results of the Lakefront
Plan totaling an investment of over $100 million generated
through public and private partnerships. She also identified
an additional $395 million in lakefront related projects that
are currently underway.
